The Municipality of Ginosa, in collaboration with the CISC of the CNR (National Research Council), has launched a trial dedicated to the development of the city’s Digital Twin, as part of the PNRR (National Plan for Urban Regeneration). The project aims to build a dynamic digital model capable of representing, understanding, and predicting the evolution of urban systems, integrating data, simulations, and analysis to support public decisions based on timely information. The trial focuses on two main areas: the reorganization of urban mobility, with models to simulate traffic and optimize routes, and a social survey involving young people in particular to improve the quality of life and accessibility to the city. The data already available to the administration will be integrated with new monitoring activities and the involvement of schools and the local community. The goal is to build replicable digital tools capable of guiding sustainable urban policies, promoting active mobility by enhancing public spaces, and paying particular attention to the well-being of citizens.
